Tracey Locke, OBE
Group HR Director
Mace Group
Tracey is the Group HR Director for Mace, having joined the company in October 2013. She is responsible for the strategic management of human resources throughout the Group which includes resourcing, organisational development, talent and learning, reward and recognition, diversity and inclusion.
Tracey joins Mace after more than 20 years in a range of public sector organisations including HM Revenue and Customs, the Department of Trade and Industry (now BIS) and the FCO. Tracey’s early career was in operational management before specialising in HR and gaining her professional qualifications. Since then, Tracey has led a number of HR and OD teams, all of which have had a significant impact on the performance of the organisations in which they have been based; one team she led reduced sickness absence by almost 50% across HMRC, bringing absence rates comparable to those in the private sector.
Tracey also led a change programme which improved productivity by 30%, increasing both employee engagement and leadership capability. In 2005, Tracey spent six months working for HRH The Prince of Wales reviewing and improving his HR systems.
Since joining Mace she has introduced a number of significant changes to their people practices. These have included the Mace Career Map; a comprehensive approach to talent and succession; a reward strategy at senior levels; and a talent programme for top female talent, Mace’s Women of the Future.
