Sheila Wild was for many years the Director of Employment Policy at the Equal Opportunities Commission (the EOC), where she led a number of major projects on workplace issues affecting women. In 2003 she was given the Wainwright Trust Award for contributions to equality.
Sheila is widely acknowledged as an expert on equal pay issues, having first headed up the EOC’s strategy in respect of equal pay claims, and later leading on the development and dissemination of good equal pay practice, including two codes of practice and the equal pay audit toolkit.
In 2007 Sheila moved across to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, where she continued to lead on equal pay.
After leaving the Commission in 2011 Sheila set up www.equalpayportal.co.uk the information resource on equal pay.
